Enrolments

The Department of Education (DE), North Western Victoria Region is supporting schools under enrolment pressure to ensure every child is attending their local neighbourhood school. As part of this effort, Irymple Secondary College is currently following a DE Enrolment Management Implementation Plan for 2025 & 2026. The DE provides guidance for schools and families through the Placement Policy.

Interested families wishing to enrol are asked to contact Irymple Secondary College for information regarding the enrolment procedure.

Students residing in the ISC neighbourhood are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address. Proof of residency documents and student birth certificates are required in accordance with the DET Placement Policy.  Applicable documents can be found on the DE Residential Address Check. Please click this link to view the document checklist.

Your closest neighbourhood school can be found at https://www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au

You can find more information and answers to frequently asked questions on the Department’s website under School zones.

Enrolment enquiries can be directed to our office, phone (03) 5024 5407 or email irymple.sc@education.vic.gov.au

Year 7, 2027 Enrolment

All Victorian government secondary schools follow the statewide Year 6 to 7 placement timeline. The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child at a Victorian government secondary school.

Applications for Year 7 open from Monday 20 April 2026 (Day 1, Term 2) via your Government Primary School.

Victorian government primary schools manage the Year 7 placement process for their Year 6 students in accordance with the timeline. At the start of Term 2, primary schools will distribute information packs to parents and carers.

What you need to do:

1. Download the Year 6 to 7 Placement Information pack from Moving from primary to secondary school (available from Monday 20 April 2026). The pack includes guidance on the application process.

2. Submit an enrolment application by Friday 8 May 2026 to your Government Primary School.

a. If your child attends a government primary school, all communication about your child's placement must be with the Year 6 Coordinator or Transition Coordinator at your child's primary school until a placement is offered.

b. If your child is home schooled or attends a non-government primary school, you may submit the application form directly to our school by Friday 8 May 2026.

3. You will receive notification of your child’s Year 7 placement offer on Wednesday 24 June 2026.

Enrolment applications submitted after Friday 8 May 2026 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Enrolment Policy.

You can find more information about applying for Year 7 placement at Moving from primary to secondary school.
